You are warmly invited.
Date: Saturday, 25 April 2026 at 9.30 am – meet at the concentration camp memorial

Every spring, a group from Putten (Netherlands) travels to Ladelund to join the locals and other interested parties in preparing the ‘Garden of Encounter’ for the new season and clearing away the traces of winter.
We have some special tasks ahead of us this year:
- A new information panel explaining the garden will be erected in the garden, near the concentration camp memorial building.
- On the site near the anti-tank trench, a hedge of shrubs will be planted to screen a newly created path from view. This path connects the ‘Path of Remembrance’ with the future development area of the municipality of Ladelund. It serves as a fire brigade access route and an emergency escape route.

If we’ve sparked your interest and you’d like to help ensure that the ‘Garden of Encounter’ looks as beautiful as it does in this photo again this summer, you’re very welcome to join us for some gardening. Every helping hand is most welcome.
Refreshments will be provided. To help us plan this, please register by calling 04666 449, emailing info@kz-gedenkstaette-ladelund.de, or contacting Gudrun Jessen-Hansen on 04666 541.
We look forward to seeing you, even if it’s just for a quick chat.
